In June 2024 Into the Wild Florist designed one of our favourite weddings to date—a styled black-and-white monochrome wedding at the stunning 100 Barrington Road in Brixton, London. We are wedding florists who specialise in creating unforgettable designs, so we were thrilled to transform this beautiful industrial venue. The highlight of the wedding flowers was being a breathtaking flower cloud suspended above the guest tables.
Black-and-White Monochrome theme Wedding Flowers at 100 Barrington Road
100 Barrington Road has a load of industrial, warehouse charm, with its exposed brick walls, steel beams, and high ceilings, offering a versatile blank canvas for our wedding florist team. Harriet and Adam opted for a Black Tie modern summer monochrome wedding theme, focusing on clean lines and bold contrasts. This timeless black-and-white wedding styling was the perfect compliment to the venue’s urban aesthetic. The theme also allowed our Florists to make a dramatic impact.
The Showstopping Flower Cloud Installation
The highlight of the day was the flower cloud—a statement installation suspended high above the guest tables. This floating flower cloud featured multi layers of soft white gypsophila (baby’s breath). The flower cloud was placed centrally and was an eye catching moment, when guests walked into the open plan reception space.
The flower cloud wasn’t just a visual centrepiece. It worked to transform the atmosphere of the space and worked in harmony with the drapes. The cloud was designed to draw the eye upward, to create sense of grandeur and add softness to the venue’s industrial edges. The guests loved the installation and it served as the perfect backdrop for Harriet and Adam’s wedding photographs.We had great fun creating the cloud – taking 2 florists over 2 hours to make and suspend it from the wooden beams.
Ceremony Flowers: All White Flowers Wedding Tablescape
The ceremony space was designed to reflect the couple’s black-and-white theme, with understated yet impactful florals. For the ceremony backdrop, 2 large arrangements on plinths framed the couple. These asymmetrical arrangements were filled with soft White Peonies, Hydrangeas, Scabious, Roses, Orlya and Dahlias. The flowers perfectly matched the sunshine and blue skies.
Reception Flower Styling at 100 Barrington
Under the flower cloud, the guest tables were styled with monochrome perfection. Crisp white table linens were paired with white plates with black Bows, glassware, and candles. This worked to give a sophisticated and fresh finish. Into the Wild Florists added Simple and elegant floral arrangements onto the tables. For the table arrangements we used seasonal flowers such as Peonies, Scabious, Roses, creating a cohesive and refined tablescape.
The monochrome styling, combined with the striking white wedding flowers on the tables and a flower cloud, perfectly balanced the urban aesthetic of 100 Barrington Road. It was a celebration that felt both intimate, fun and luxurious.
